Sri Venkateswara University(SVU) Admission Procedure

Sri Venkateswara University,Tirupati was established in 1954, in the world famous temple town of Tirupati on the sprawling campus of 1000 acres with a panoramic and pleasant hill view. This University stands as a testimony to the wisdom and foresight of great visionaries Late Sri Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Late Sri Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, to cater to the educational needs and aspirations of the people of Rayalaseema area. With a great wisdom, the founder of this University have rightly coined the motto “Wisdom lies in proper perspective” for it.

SVUniversity Admission Procedure

1. A candidate seeking admission into P.G. Courses shall have to qualify in the entrance test conducted by Directorate of Admissions (Ph :0877-2248589), S.V. University every year.

2. A candidate seeking admission into M.Phil. / Ph.D. (Full time/ Part time) shall have to qualify in the Research Entrance Test conducted by S.V. University. (SVU RESET) . Candidates who have passed UGC/CSIR/NET/SLET/GATE examination need not write RESET examination, however they have to apply in response to the notification.

3. The selection of the candidates for P.G. Courses and M.Phil. Programme is based on the marks obtained in the S.V.University Entrance Test and availability of seats in the concerned discipline. Whenever there is a tie in giving ranks for those who secure the same marks in the test, the elder person will have the priority. The usual rules of reservation will be followed in the allotment of seats.

4. The Selection of a candidate to the Ph.D. Programme is based on :

* eligibility in the entrance test,
* availability of a seat with a teacher and
* consent of the teacher to guide the student.

Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) conducted LAWCET ( Law Common Entrance Test ) for the year 2009.

The Results Of Lawcet 2009 are going to be released on 18-June-09

Eligibility: Candidates aspiring to pursue 3 year LL.B/B.L should have passed any Graduate Degree of a recognized University with an aggregate of 40% marks.

For 5 year LL.B/B.L Course, candidates should have passed two year Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with 40% of aggregate marks or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the University concerned or the Board of Intermediate Examination
